What actually moves the price
Size, pitch and access move the price more than the brand of sheet 3. Two storeys, a steep pitch or a complicated shape all push it up 2.
Beyond the upfront price
- Weight: tiles are a lot heavier. Swap a heavy roof for a light one and uplift has to be considered 4.
- Joins: long-run sheets go in one piece from eave to ridge. A tile roof has heaps of laps.
- Coastal sites: you pick the steel coating to suit your exposure category 5.
