COLORSTEEL®'s guide uses different distances on the west coast: Very Severe typically 50–500 m and Severe 500 m–1 km from the coast, versus Moderate from 1–5 km 1. Beachside homes in Raumati, Paraparaumu Beach, Waikanae Beach and Ōtaki Beach need careful product choice. Many inland homes can use a wider range.
