Spouting and gutters with your re-roof

If your spouting is near the end of its life, replacing it while the scaffold is already up for the re-roof avoids paying for access twice.

Why do it at the same time

  • The scaffold and edge protection are already in place
  • New roof sheets and new spouting can be detailed together at the eaves
  • Colours match from day one

Coastal exposure matters more for spouting

Manufacturer warranty tables treat gutters and downpipes as "accessories" and give them shorter warranties and more frequent washing than roofing. For example ZINCALUME® roofing in a Moderate environment carries 20 years versus 10 years for gutters and downpipes, with manual washing every 3 months 1. COLORSTEEL® publishes separate accessory warranties by category too 2.

What to ask

  • Material and profile of the spouting, and its warranty for your exposure category
  • Number and size of downpipes
  • How it connects to existing stormwater (drainage work must be done by an authorised person 3)

Add spouting to your quote request or see roof replacement.
